The history of Hout Bay is covered with special emphasis on the fishing industry from which Hout Bay existed in the formative years. There is an interesting chapter on the forts around Hout Bay that were developed by the Dutch as defence against expected British attack and occupation. Numerous photographs of the area in its development years are featured as well as stories of the families that were part and parcel of its history.
The book was purchased by tourists who found its content of interest. In addition, numerous residents in the area acquired copies of the book for their own personal enjoyment and record. (Out of print).
