Willowmore

Willowmore in the Eastern Cape, between Aberdeen and Uniondale, is a perfect town to spend a night or two if travelling to George or visiting the Baviaanskloof. It has a diverse history with interesting historic buildings and farms; where Angora goats, Boerbok, Merino sheep, and Nguni cattle roam. The book covers its inception as a trading stage and stop-over for wagons travelling north and east from the coast – to present day, with its communities and their daily life. Of interest to military buffs is an article on the brief skirmish during the Anglo-Boer War and the names of the Town Guard and District Mounted Troops. Excellent accommodation featured.

The book is still available through the Willowmore Municipality.
